Property maintenance matters + general enquiries

For property maintenance requests, please first check the trouble-shooting information. If you cannot fix the issue, please report the maintenance request via report a maintenance issue. For other general enquiries please contact us.

Emergencies

Please refer to the repairs page in the sub-menu for guidance as to what constitutes an emergency. For genuine emergencies out of hours, please call 07970-251369 and 07973-386714. You must leave a message on both phones giving details of the address, contact name and number and the nature of the emergency. Please do not send texts to these numbers. The messages left on these emergency numbers are checked regularly and you will receive a call back as soon as possible. Non-emergency calls will not be replied to.

Gas + electricity

If you are managing your own bills and have not arranged a bills package with a third party provider you need to register with the current supplier/s. Details of the current gas supplier can be found on www.findmysupplier.energy/webapp/index.html. Details of the current electricity supplier can be obtained by visiting www.enwl.co.uk. Please contact your current suppliers and give them your names and the meter readings given to you when you moved in. After registering with the current suppliers, you can then switch supplier to your preferred choice.

Water

If you are responsible for the bills, you will need to register with United Utilities via www.unitedutilities.com to put the bill in your name/s from the date your tenancy agreement began.

Council tax

You need to register for council tax. If you are a student, you should provide your student details to the Council Tax Unit at Manchester City Council. Students should also provide us with copies of their council tax exemption certificates (or if at The University of Manchester – a copy of your confirmation of registration which has been updated to reflect your new address) so that, in the event of a query, we can forward them to the Council Tax Unit.

TV licence

You need to buy a TV licence via www.tvlicensing.co.uk
